Today was a cold rainy day so I made bean soup.  Making bean soup reminded me of a gardening get-to-gether.  (I know, I know, Proust ate cookies.) A bunch of the Sprouts met at the National Botanic Garden at the foot of Capital Hill when it reopened after major changes.  There were Wolvie and her pretty little mother, Shade Queen, the Bareroot conTessa,  AnnL, Gretchen. Others maybe?

Why bean soup you may ask?  I had a big pot of beansoup in the back of my station wagon. wrapped in newspapers to keep it pipping hot. And fresh Italian bread from Catania's.  We had a tailgate party in the bright January sunshine.

Gardeners are great.  Meeting them is good.

Sounds like a good time. So are you taking your bean soup on the road? I'm sure someone needs a visitation!
