In 30 days (post #16231)

In about 30 days my garden will start waking up. First up will be a Witch Hazel right outside my home office window. There is a big Spruce behind it that really highlights the Witch Hazel flowers.

Your photos are very nice. As for first to come out in the garden are the daffodils and a Star Magnolia. I would like to have a Witch Hazel.

I can see buds and some leaves on my plantings, even though we have been having moderate snows for several weeks. Sure signs of spring, the gambels quail showed up two days ago. My garden is defrosting and there are plenty of swiss chard leaves, still hunkered down under the snow crust.

I'm ashamed of whats in my garden its a hot mess or should I say a cold mess. I didn't do any winter cleanup in 10/09. Everything that could go wrong in my life happen within a 4 week period.I'm praying for a better 2010.

Forsythia, daffodils and hyacinths.  I have a witch hazel but it's a native Virginian one and doesn't bloom until late October.
