Hi can anyone tell me the name of this flowering bush. I found this picture and it doen't tell you the name of the bush or shrub. I know these have been around for a long time. My Mom use to have one in her garden and I love it. Please see attached picture.

Hi Julie--this looks like kerria japonica. I love it, too, because that golden flower color is so different from most other spring plants. I planted one in full sun in a "forgotten" area of the garden, and left it alone for about six years. It had grown enormously--via suckers--from a plant about six feet in spread to about fifteen feet. If you plant one, you may want to watch out for this. I finally cut back the outer stems and then dug out the roots, but it was a huge job. I plan to watch it more closely from now on!
