What is this Flowering Plant??
Hi everyone,
About a month ago I cut down two dead plants which were about 2 1/2 feet high
but new foliage began to grow.
It is the middle of September, & I am near Ottawa, Ontario.
Last week I noticed that one of the plants had started flowering again.
This morning I took these photos.
The leaves have a Maple look & flower is bell shape, blue with violet at the base, very pretty, but what is it?
How should I take care of it?
Many Thanks,
Laurel

Delphinium (post #17931, reply #1 of 1)
This is a delphinium and usually blooms in the early summer when most of the roses do and if you cut it back it will grow again and bloom for you in the fall. It likes fish emulsion in the spring but will do fine with any compost spread around but not touching the base of the plant. Good luck with it.
