Welcome atokadawn. The fence (post #16026, reply #1 of 10)
Welcome atokadawn. The fence is still tore down but please feel free to step right in. When and if our fellow members return on a regular basis there is a wealth of knowledge on anything garden. And some good ol'humor as well. Tauton gave us a new format with alot of bugs they are still trying to fix. So I hope you have patience
This time of year, for many (post #16026, reply #2 of 10)
This time of year, for many of us, is a pretty slow time and there are few questions asked, or comments posted. Most people seem to object to change around here since all the discussion latley has been about the new forum format.
The sign of a good gardener is brown knees, not a green thumb.

Welcome to the group. We're all still around but finding this new format difficult to use, so many of us are keeping in touch elsewhere for the time being. It's not that we object to change -- we're all gardeners after all and things are changing all the time out there. It's just that the site hasn't been working smoothly and has made conversation cumbersome.
As for the garden, there's never a slow time in my garden.

We will have to re-set the date (time zone) for our new year soon. Sometimes that causes a problem if you don't remember to if your computer doesn't do it automatically.
I am waiting for a delivery of a ton of wood pellets sometime today, and got talked into better grade pellets. My new stove is wonderful, clean and efficient, what a relief not having to clean out dinky ashes all the time. Whoopee!
Hi Atokadawn, welcome from me (post #16026, reply #4 of 10)
Hi Atokadawn, welcome from me as well. Could you tell us where you live so we'll have some idea of your gardening climate. Karen is lucky enough to have a greenhouse and that's why she's never without gardening projects. For me, the next activity will be starting seeds in the basement, but January is the month of 1000 gardening catalogs.

Welcome, atokadawn. I am also new here.
I live in Southeast Texas, and came around here to check out the vast wealth of knowledge, and experience that these folks have.
I just signed up today also. (post #16026, reply #7 of 10)
I just signed up today also. This is the first time I have ever done anything like this. I live in New Hampshire in the Lakes Region. I garden from March (as soon as the ground starts to show) until the snow flies in early December. It has been snowing now for four days. I am going stir crazy and miss my garden. My husband suggested trying something like this to help me keep my sanity until I can start digging again. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
I first found this site (post #16026, reply #8 of 10)
I first found this site during our big snowstorm in Jan 2000, so I can understand. Luckily it's a (very) rare occurrence for us down here, but at the time we got 20" in less than 24 hrs and my garden disappeared. The trees looked gorgeous, though.

Hello all, Rebecca from (post #16026, reply #9 of 10)
Hello all, Rebecca from Tucson, AZ here! Haven't been here for about a year, maybe??? WOW, has it ever changed? This all looks new (and strange) to me, but OKAY!!?**~~ We're lucky in the fall/winter/spring here; only freezes about 6-9 days in winter, which if covered properly, my numerous succulents wiz through. And they are doing beautifully. Being a renter, I garden in containers, with 2 small exceptions, dug thru 20++ yr old weed rag and things do even better in there. Made one for my neighbor, also, so she'd have something nice to look at. She's 77 and alone, so we keep her company. Good to be back here, and glad to know NEW persons are joining! I'll post pics as soon as figure out how to, pretty illiterate w/computers, tee hee! God Bless and Happy Landings

The invitation is open to everyone. If you have questions or just want to join silly gardeners, c'mon over! http://forums.delphiforums.com/Sproutoff/start
