coffee grounds in the garden (post #19456, reply #1 of 3)
Coffee grounds are a good addition to your gardens soil. The people at Sunset had coffee grounds from Starbucks analysed and they found the pH is 6.2, not bad, and they have other nutrients of value..This link will provide more information.

The sign of a good gardener is brown knees, not a green thumb.
Coffee grounds (post #19456, reply #2 of 3)
I dump coffee grounds around the acid-loving plants. Not sure they add to soil acidity, but they decompose quickly and add tilth to the soil. Also, I have read that they keep pests from invading (the smell?). Two years ago I got huge plastic bags of grounds from Starbucks for free. They had coffee filters in them, but they decompose pretty quickly (trying to pull them out from those wet grounds got a bit much!)
I compost them, works well. (post #19456, reply #3 of 3)
I compost them, works well. I've also just directly incorporated them into my raised beds just fine.
