Hinoki Cypress
I have a 6ft hinoki cypress (confucious gold) that has recently turned yellow in the core of the plant. The tips are unaffected. I don't see spider mites and no obvious oozing from the trunk. We had an intense summer (hot and dry) and I watered 2 x a week for ~30min each time. Then in the past two months we've had a TON of rain in September (20+inches or more). It also rained extensively in August. I love this tree but don't know what to do. Suggestions?
