overwintering new perennials in pots
overwintering new perennials in pots (post #19397)

Hello...I garden in zone 5/6, and would like to take a few small divisions that I've potted(in smallish pots) to Florida (zone 8) in February. I suppose I should keep them in pots until then, but how to store them through the early New England winter?
I have a boltonia, and a switch grass, and a phlox subulata to take.
Thanks

Taking plants into Florida (post #19397, reply #1 of 1)
You should check with the Florida Agriculture people about taking those plants there. For a number of reasons you may need to have those plants inspected and certified disease and insect pest free to legally take them there.
If you have some place to store them that gets cold but does not freeze that would be where to store those plants.
