pruning lorepetalum

gwen's picture

Hi,  I have 5 lorepetalum that I planted four years ago, in amended clay and full sun/some high shade.  None have reached their full size, all have winter burn this year and only one seems to be thriving well.

I'm wondering whether lorepetalum can take "rejuvenation pruning" (and how best to do that) or if I need to replace them.

Thx much!

I have successfully cut my (post #16471, reply #1 of 1)

I have successfully cut my lorapetalums way back. (They grew too tall and into a path.) Once established, they don't seem to mind what you do to them or when you do it, at least in the Bay Area, where I live. I've sawed off half the plant with no adverse effects-it just sprouts from the stubs.
