I planted a Japanese Maple (small -4-6 ft) this spring, and it seems to be growing and adding leaves. However, I have noticed that most of the edges of the leaves look burnt. What is the reason for this? It is in the shade, and receives plenty of water.

Japanese Maple leaves are tender (post #17906, reply #1 of 1)
Naturally these small trees would be part of the Shrub-layer in a wood; there they would have wind protection from all directions, and only get some , dappled sunlight.
These leave burn both with morning sun ( as well as the stronger rays later on) ------ and with the wind.
Maybe it's in a draught? ( Draft )
