Trying to find an old article about finding the "Genius" or spirit of a garden (post #16322)

Several years ago (maybe 4?) I read a great article about figuring out the "genius" or spirit or soul of a garden and using that as a guide to the design of the garden.  I'm afraid I must have lent the article to friend because now I can't find it anywhere.  Does anyone remember it and know where I can access it?  Thanks for the help.

That concept comes up fairly frequently in some form or another. Can you offer us anything else to go on?

Sorry I'm afraid I don't remember much.  In going back through my magazine collection I found an article I thought I remembered from about the same time and it was back in 2001!  I do know it was the first time I had heard the term "genius" in conjunction with the idea of the spirit of the garden.  I also remember the article discussed how the regional character fit in with the character of the garden.  Not much to go on I'm afraid.

Try issue #111 (Sept/Oct 2006) "Celebrate the Spirit of a Place" which is an interview with Page Dickey.

If that isn't it, I will keep looking.

Thanks so much for your time Steve.  From what I can tell that looks like exactly what I was looking for.  Excuse my ignorance, buy is there a way to access the article directly or do I need to buy that issue?  Thanks again.
