Will new stalk grow from Clivia Miniata? (post #19752)

I recently read that you should cut the stalk, but I had just pulled it off seeing how loose it was after blooming. Will a new stalk grow? and does a fertilizer help or encourage it to happen faster? and if so, what kind?
