Pond Plants
Hi all,
I would like some suggestions on pond plants that my large and hungry Koi will not devour.
Thanks in advance,
Mel.

OH,THAT'S why our our plants are so beat up! (post #16971, reply #1 of 1)
Wish I could suggest something reliable. We had hoped our water hyacinths, Eichhornia crasisipes, would reduce algae growth but the they didn't multiple much. We think our koi and or goldfish snacked on them when they were hungry. Since that is all the time ,we feed them once a day during the summer. Of course that means more pooping ,algae, and filter cleaning. The pond is 2500 g's, It has a rubber liner ,the filter runs non stop during mild weather and we've tried bio based products in the fall and spring, Our fish hybernate during winter at the 3ft deep end, during the winter. We clean out the muck in the spring , add fresh water ,new floaters and oxygenators.
Yet we have greener water then we like . Do you have any suggestions for us? I'll read up on plants for you and perhaps others wiii make suggestions as well. Thanks, earthd
