combination plants
Hi
I am looking for suggestions of plants that go well with Bergenia. I am re-doing a garden bed with some Miscanthus "Zebrinus" and some Pennisetum "Orientale" i wanted to put some Bergenia in front of the Pennisetum as a border type, but i would also like a few flowering perennials in with the mix to go with the grass and Bergenia look. so many plants to choose, i cant decide.
Any suggestions??
thanks so much!
Kari.

I think my neighbour next door planted alliums in with Karl Forester(sp?) grass, the contrast looked nice. Bergenia tends to have a reddish tint, a flower/plant in a reddish colour could look nice as well and would contrast against the lime tones of the miscanthus. I planted a flower with reddish leaves and an orange flower, something with volcano or lava in it's name (lychnis?)? Valerian (red) is pretty easy care and is tall and loose. Knautia comes in a nice rusty red.
