Last Fall we cleared Buckthorn from a large area around the perimeter of our yard. As much as I'm glad to have the mess gone, now I miss the barrier from the road that it created.
The first challenge with this spot is that we have to work with the ancient cedar trees that line the area. There are also a few cottonwood trees mixed in at the side.
We attended a fabulous Arbor Day sale on Saturday, and purchased 8 Cornus Stolonifera Baileyi, 1 Viburnum Mohican, 2 Viburnum Blue Muffin, 3Wintergreen Boxwood, 4 Burning bush, a hawthorn tree , 2 crabapples, 3 servic berry.
Let's see. we are in zone 5, and I will post a picture. Help!

Welcome to the Fence,Carollcl3. That sounds like a fab collection of shrubs. You might want to watch for seedlings with the Burning Bush. The birds spread the seed and it can be invasive in some areas. Please fill out your profile so we can know where you garden.
