Hello! Does anyone know what zone 3 evergreen is most similar to Italian Cypress? I am looking for a narrow columnar evergreen that is very tall. It would also be wonderful if it grew quickly. Thank you!

That's a tough question, since there aren't many evergreens that look like Italian cypress and they aren't that hardy. The answer might be Blue spruce or some equally unhelpful plant, since you asked what evergreen hardy to zone 3 looked "most" like Italian cypress.
Similar-shaped conifers (post #15397, reply #2 of 2)
Similar-shaped conifers include the Chamaecyparis lawsoniana variety 'Kilmacurragh'.
Fast, they can grow 3ft higher/year.
Another one is the ubiquitus-in-England "Leyland Cypress" - Cupressocyparis X leylandii. These can get 75 ft high x 20ft wide & are VERY fast.
To get the desired 'pencil ' effect - remember to keep the individuals apart by about 25 ft
centers.
THE narrowest spirical conifer 'over here' is Juniperus drupacea - the Syrian juniper. This gets to to nearly 60 ft they may take a bit of time to get there. I'd suggest planting 15 ft centers
minimum for that italianate look. In windy places, it needs deep soil or you could get it windblowing.
