Rosemary
I have a 4 year-old healthy rosemary plant. The leaves are fleshy and oily, leaving a wonderful aroma on the fingers. My question is this: The leaves of the top 3-4 inches of each branch are covered with a fine, white powery substance which release into the air when I disturb the branches when watering. This powder gives the leaves a pale grey appearance, compared to the lower leaves, which are a deep green. I'd like to know what the powder is. Since the plant seems healthy, I assume the powder is not a pathogen, like powdery mildew. What do you think?

Say good bye to the rosemary. Or, put it outside in a place where it will get sunshine, water and lots and lots of fresh air. I don't know what its called, but that white stuff is the bain of my existence...I bring the rosemary plants in in the fall, they are magnificent, I water them, I dote on them, and then-wham! White stuff on the leaves and then, adios.
Sorry.
