Tomatoes: Best Way To Stake
Last year I tried to box in the tomatoes using 4 foot rebar stakes and then stringing baling wire around it to make a cage. This did not work well at all. I've tried cages and trellis and they have been poor supports. This year I'm putting in 54 tomato plants (our church has a community garden where the left overs go to the local mission) and want to do a much better job staking. I was thinking of panel fencing and then tying the plants to that but panel fencing is pretty pricey. Anybody have any ideas?
