I need Flanders Field Poppies

dwbarr's picture

Does anyone have a pinch of Flanders Field Poppy seeds I could have for the price of postage? I used to have a patch in my garden, but last summer they disappeared. I can't seem to find them in small quantity online for purchase (I'm not sowing a field, just a couple square yards!)

I have Papaver rhoeas, commonly called Flander's poppy. I don't have a lot but I can spare a pinch. Also Bentley Seed company in Cambridge NY sells them, I think they have a website.
just send me a personal e-mail with your addy and I send them off to you!

She means don't post your address publicly.  There are all sorts of nuts out there.  Delete it.

I also wanted to say, that the Flanders poppy seeds can stay dormant for many years, once you disturb the soil around the area they sometimes re-appear. That's why the poppies in Flanders were growing like crazy during the first World War, they had been burying many of the fallen soldiers! ( just what I've been told)
