I would love to plant some black mondo grass in a shade garden. The only source locally is selling it for $15 a plant, a tad expensive for me. Does anyone know of a source for it mail order or on the web that is more reasonably priced?

I've seen it locally for about half that price, but not any mail-order suppliers. Where are you located?

Hi Marty--I'm in Downingtown, PA, about 40 miles west of Philadelphia. I'm going to the garden expo at Winterthur next weekend. It's a big one, done in conjunction with Horticulture magazine, so I'm hoping it will be available there. Thanks for your reply.

It's very expensive here in Portland OR too. I wait for sales or am sometimes lucky enough to find one at a plant swap or a local fundraiser - the kind where organization members dig stuff up from their own gardens and sell to raise money for a cause.
